I have a 3300 mx controller version 8.0.10.7_1 with embedded voicemail. When I am on the phone and someone calls my extension, the caller hears a genereic greeting "the person you are calling is on the phone please leave a message after the tone".

How can I get my voicemail greeting to play instead of this generic greeting when someone calls my extension while I am on the phone?

If I am away from my desk and my extension is called, the caller hears my voicemail greeting.

does anyone have any suggestions?

If you don't record your name and greeting you'll get the generic message.

The voicemail already has a greeting recorded.

You may have a NA (No Answer) greeting recorded, but not a busy greeting, which is why when you're on the phone callers are hearing the canned default busy greeting. Log into your mailbox and get to the greetings menu, let the voice be your guide.
