Good day Mitel Techs...

I have an issue with a 3300 running 7.1.4.9 (yes, I know it's outdated, but that is all they need for the time), I'm running 1 NSU with 2-PRI's.

The issue I am having is; the customer states they have echo on their phones at times(IP Sets), or when a queue receives a call(at times) there is dead air, when connecting/ in the middle/ or at the end of a conversation? I have not presonally heard or duplicated this issue, so I am going off the customer comments.

I have checked the logs, there are Software Errors stating:
"Audio Quality Report -- Excessive TDM Transmit failuresMCC Tx reported 14 failures on MCC ch 16Received 6778 packets from IP phone xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx"
I have this message from 6 failures all the way upto 132 failures!

Then I checked the Maintenance logs and I see:
"IP Network Dropped 2.83 percent of Packets from phone xxx.xxx.xxx.xxxTotal Rx: 2571 Lost=75 maxLossBurst=2 1 in a row: 73 2 in a row: 1 3-5 in a row: 0 6-10 in a row: 0 11 or more: 0"
I have this message from 2.00 - 3.02%

If anyone can tell me if this is the issue, I would be in your debt! Or any other solution to this...

Thanks

Are these problems only during peak traffic? You may need addional DSP resources, possibly network issues as well.

NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED!

Thanks for the response nytalkin,

The customer tells me it happens erratically, when ever the system feels like it...

Like I said, I couldn't produce the same issues or effects, or they never occured when I was near them so limited troubleshooting - other than standard testing was completed onsite.

I went to the site and replaced the 2 - Quad DSP's in the system yesterday morning, thinking that it may fix the issue, but the only thing that was fixed was: no more dropped calls. But now there are dead air spaces... I'm at the end of my wits! I have my Megalink (PRI troubleshooters) involved and they are not seeing any anomalies. I had the ILEC change their HRU (PRI Card) and it ran well for 3 weeks, that was about 1.5 months ago.

I would suspect issues with the network.

Either Data traffic is crossing over to the Voice VLAN or there is/are congestion points with routers.

I would suggest a network assessment be done to determine where/why the packets are being lost/delayed

Thanks kwbMitel,

I have the customer doing a complete network scope.

I will keep you informed as what happens.
