I'm new to Mitels but know Avaya's pretty well.

I'm trying to see if there is a way to allow the dialing of 4 digits (not in the dial plan) and based on the criteria (i.e. 11xx), then add additional digits to route it over the PSTN without actually connecting PBX's together. This is only for purposes of user simplicity.

Thanks,

Absolutely!

Still using your example (11XX)

ARS Digits would be entered as:

Form = ARS Digits Dialed Assignment
Digits Dialed = 11
Digits to follow = 2
Termination type = Route
Termination # = (New - Currently unused)

Form = Route Assignment
Route Number = (As Above)
Routing Medium = TDM Trunk Group
Trunk Grp # = (Existing PSTN Trunk Group)
COR Group = (Unrestricted group)
Digit Mod = (New - Currently Unused)

Form = Digit Modification Assignment
Digits to absorb = 0
Digits to be inserted = Copy what ever currently exists for normal calls and append areacode (NPA) and Office Code (NNX)
e.g. if existing calls insert {000} you would insert {000}789123. If nothing is currently inserted just add the NPANNX. What is acually dialed would be NPA-NNX-11XX (User dialed 11XX)

Note- These forms must be programmed in reverse order of the call flow. (Or at least create the route first or you can't assign the digits to it)
