Hi
I have a old 3300 and I want monitor it by WEB. so first I need access the consloe port and setup a IP address.
But I have some question.
(1)The CD come with the 3300 only has a SLIP progeam running at win95, is there a new version can run at winnt or win2k?
(2)If it must be a modem to connect the console port to a PC?

Thanks

The DB9 port is mainly used via a pc running Hyperterm or another emulater. To access the CLI and menu, you require a null modem cable. There are usually cable diagrams in the user guides on the 3Com website.

As for the application on the CD it is a small GUI application that uses the Default Slip Address on the switch. If the slip address has been deleted or altered then the application will not work.

Use a console cable to configure you IP address, and then put this ip address into your browser and this will open up a web view which you can use to configure all of the other switch parameters

thank you very much. I had worked it out. I try the slip web program from CD, but it not work. So I chnanged to use Hyber Terminal, then i accessed the 3com!
