I am thinking of getting a 64mb video cardc for a second pc is it worth it? Is it any better than a 32mb card? + is Tv out any good? Is 32mb card good with dvds?

32MB is plenty for DVDs. Also, I would only consider a 64MB card if I was really high on computer gaming, or Computer Aided Design (CAD) or engineering. If you won't be doing a lot of the above, and just playing DVDs, then 32MB Card would be plenty (as long as you have sufficient System RAM [128-512MB]).

As for TV out, it depends on if you want to be able to see everything you would see on the monitor on a TV screen. I personally think that the monitor provides a better picture than a TV (unless it is an HDTV). But it all depends on your application of the product - what you will use it for.

I would go with a tv out nVidia card, just because it's pretty much standard and doesn't cost much more.

As for video memory, an intense 3D game running at 1024x768x32 colors using just a little more than 32 meg of video ram, such that with most 3D games at that resolution and color depth, there is seriously less than a 5% speed increase going to a 64meg video card. 2D applications don't come close to filling that first 32meg of memory, and realistically, for a business computer 16meg of ram is suitable.

So what it comes down to, if the programs that you intend to run on that pc don't even require the full 32meg of ram, there will be a zero percent performance increase using a 64meg card. Only in high resolution 3D games do you exceed the 32meg ram.

If you're looking to get good dvd playback, I recommend going with a hardware decoder card anyways. Go onto eBay and search for "dxr3", this card provides far better quality than any software decoder I've seen (PowerDVD, WinDVD). I used to run the dxr3 card with an AMD 450MHz and a Voodoo Banshee video card - perfect playback. Now I've got an AMD 1.13GHz and Geforce2 GTS Pro 32meg card and PowerDVD still does not match the quality of the dxr3 card.
