3270 Client - script question

My company used to use Attachmate Extra! as our mainframe emulation program but is switching to HIS 3270 Client (v2004). For Attachmate, I had developed a simple macro/script that automatically ran on startup which displayed the contents of a text file in an alert box.

Is it possible to create such a script for the 3270 Client? The script there seems limited to interacting with the remote system but maybe I am missing something.
