Hi,

I have a UNISYS E7000 series IA64 server with RedHat AS4, 2.6 kernel. I am trying to execute a 32 bit binary on this server, but getting errors "can not execute binary". How to use 32 bit compatibility on 64 bit environment.

Dumb question but did you check the file permissions? All 64 bit processors need to be downwardly compatible with 32 bit without having to jump through any hoops to make it work. Otherwise, you would need to create an entirely new 64 bit operating system and recompile everything on that system.

Make sure your 32 bit appl doesn't call any 64 bit libraries.

If it's an IA64 as opposed to EMT64 then it is NOT backward compatible. You probably need to run some kind of emulation to run 32-bit I386 style applications.
