Led to belive that using the fat client (VER4.0) we are limited to 30,000 charcters in the master script but if we access via Web Client (ver 4.05) this is 50,000. Anyone advise if this is correct or we on the wrong path.

Thanks.

It's definitely 50K from web client and I'm not aware that there is anything different for fat client. This not just for the master script but for ANY script.

I believe the limit was raised in to 50,000 with SCCS 5. I don't think that this limit is affected by the type of access (web or classic client).

Miles is correct, the character limit was based on the version of Symposium, not the client.

Thanks folks, to be clear then regardless of how i access the Symposium, the character limit is dictated by the version of Symposium not the client? So in theory if i'm hitting the max characters now in FAT then i'll get the same problem in Web ?

So FAT is version 4.0, WEB is version 4.5, what is my Symposium version ? 4 ? ie 30,000 characters ?

Sorry if i'm making this hard !

This limit is dictated by the release of the Symposium Server you have. The Fat Client and the Web Client are access tools to administer the Symposium Server. You will have to go on the server itself to get the version of the server.

Thanks for all your help. I'll go check the server.

Ok so

Server version is CCS200 5.0

So we are saying regadless of which method of access i use, i should have a 50,000 character limit ?
