I'm looking for a 3-wire, solid copper core, 22 or smaller guage cable, that is "soft," kind of like CAT5 patch cable. Something that isn't as rigid and doesn't have 'memory' like say thermostat wire.

Something just like CAT5 patch cable, but only 3 wires.

I appreciate your suggestions and recommendations. -- RICK

Hmmmm. Anything against 4 conductor? When you say soft, what you're referring to is the type of cable -- stranded in this case. Stranded cable is made up of many smaller strands of copper that form one individual conductor, but the stranded nature to it lets it be much more flexible -- hence patch cords are made with stranded cable because it's a lot easier to move around.

I'd say go with some 4 conductor stranded quad.

telephone line cord , stranded flexible with 4 conductors

what is the application ?

What do you want to use it for? That will determine what kind of cable you need.
