3 Seperate Companies - 1 Email Domain 1

Hi there,

We run a contract, along with 2 other seperate companies (no links in any way to each other). This contract looks like it will be merging - Part of this 'merge' is to share 1 email domain between the 3 seperate companies so the customer sees us as 'one'(staff from each company can email out and receive from this 1 email domain).

First of all, is this possible? I believe it is, but will involve a trust setup, via AD, for each site. I've no idea on how to begin looking at the Exchange side - Can anyone point me to a site or give some advice please? Exchange 2003.

The 2 way trust will be needed and users in the other domains will need an exchange/user account created in the domain holding exchange. Then their outlooks can be configured to access that exchange, but will prompt for username and password. or just make them use OWA...

Thanks for the replies - I think 'xmsre' has pointed me in the right direction.

So........I could setup Routing Group for both 3rd party companies who need to use our domain. Setup to forward onto Smart Host, for that specific site address, for email addresses that do not resolve. They would do the same at their end for sending out through us.

I need to read up a bit more on this, but sounds like it shouldn't be to difficult.

We currently re-direct all our email through a SmartHost (MessageLabs) - Could this still be done with the above scenario (SmartHost to SmartHost)?
