I am attempting to create an MSCS cluster using 2 Virtual Machines running w2k3 r2sp2. I have added 3 Network Adapters:
Public
Heartbeat-01
Heartbeat-02
I am able to ping the public, heartbeat-01 & heartbeat-02 IPs for all adapters on both nodes pinging from both sides. I have the binding order on both nodes (highest to lowest) being Public, Heartbeat-01, then Heartbeat-02. There are no errors in device manager. I have node 2 down and just created a new cluster with Node 1 up.
After creating the new cluster, I noticed in Cluster Administrator --> <node1> --> Network Interfaces that I only see the Public and Heartbeat02 network adapters. Heartbeat01 adapter is missing
Should MSCS be detecting that other Network Adapter automatically?
Do I have to install the other adapter manually, if so, how do I do this (i've tried right clicking at the various levels but i don't see the option to do this?)
Also, shouldn't the binding order make it so that Hearbeat-01 is detected before Hearbeat-02 due to the binding order I set above?
Thanks in advance.
