Hi, having a problem with RMAN - i expect it's syntax but i can't see it....
I have 3 servers - on one of them i can connect to rman using 'connect target <databasename>'.
On the other 2 i get an error message saying 'insufficient privileges, not connected to target database'.
This is super-wierd because this definitely used to work! Also all 3 databases are set up the same.
I'm running oracle on windows and 99% of my problems to date have been with syntax and the (non) co-operation of oracle and the windows operating system. But i can't see any difference between my 3 servers - except that the one that works is a stand-alone and the 2 that don't are on the network. But for all machines the windows users that do the login are all administrators and are all in the ora_dba group.
Also i'm not joking, this really used to work, i have screen shots to prove it! (But obviously something has changed since then).
Does anyone know the command line trick to convince RMAN that i'm allowed to login? Scheduled backups are running everynight (on all servers) and everything seems fine from the Enterprise Manager view.
But i know when it comes to Oracle gui's are an afterthought, and because i can't log in on the command line i'm worried....
