3 com 3500 Core

Just playing around with a core for fun

i made two vlans

VLAN2 on port one ip 10.55.35.10 IP/IPX-802.2

VLAN4 on port 3 ip 10.55.36.10 IP/IPX-802.2

I have machines plugged into these ports and they can ping the ip assigned to each port. But i can not get them to communicate outside of each other. I tried enabling port tragging on both vlans with no help. When i do turn on port tagging neither machine can get a response from the switch.

Any pointers on what im doing wrong?
