I have a customer that has three site. One has a BCM 400 3.6 (main site), one has BCM 400 3.7 and one has a BCM50. Customer just installed a MPLS network and they want to retain 3 digit extensions at each site. Is there anything special I need to do to make this work? When I dial a extension from the main site to the BCM 400 3.7 site, the call drops as soon as I dial the last digit of the extension. Target lines are built at all sites, IP Trunks are built in the same pool (no access code) and dest codes are built using the IP trunk pool. What am I missing? Help!!!!!!

Allot, first you need 4 digit ext. #s, you maybe able to squeak by, but it's not worth the headaches. You need to build remote gateways with there own dest. digits. Plus, you need build these target lines as private recvd. digits.

I've got the Targets set-up as Private Receive digits already and for the gateways I have each BCM listed as the gate way with the lead digit for each site programmed in. It sound like the answer is using 4 digit extnsions, correct?

Was this networked before. Are your gateways programed. Recived digits the same?

The two BCM 400's were connected with Point-to-Point PRI and were set-up as Public. They just switched over to MPLS yesterday and added the BCM50 location.

Your calls are going over VoIP trunks instead of PRI-B. Did you make the changes on your routes. Does your dest digits point to new routes or did you change the pools on your existing routes?

Then you would need to program the remote gateways with IP address and dest. digits. PT to PT just sends digits MPLS is VOIP and you have to tell it where to go .

The Route have been changed to access the VoIP trunks. The Dest digits are set as "X*" X= the lead digit of the extensions at each site and *= any number after that. The Dest are also programmed as delete none. The Gateways are set up as the BCM at each site and the lead digit for that site.

Have you used the ping utility out of the main site to the remote site. I know it's basic, but I wonder if they're talking.

The ping command works fine. I can access the systems remotely with no problems. The customer said they are using VPN IPSec on this MPLS. They had problems last night with the Sonic Firewalls but now that have that working. Is there something missing?

We found the problem today. The customer gave us the wrong gateway information and the wrong IP configuration. Once the correct gateway was programmed and the correct IP Routes in the BCM's all test OK. Thanks for everyones help.

As I always say:
