I have a well maintained 3.7 system with 48 sets and a PRI. Customer wants to network this system via VPN to another BCM 50 R6 . Is that possible with a 400 3.7? Would I need SIP Gateway or VOIP Gateway keycode and MCDN?

H323 is available on the 3.7, but I don't see SIP gateways as an available keycode until 4.0, unless my list is incomplete. MCDN/Q.SIG is only required for centralized voicemail. If they just want to make private calls between the systems then only VOIP trunks would be required.

One system is 3 digit, the other 4 digit extensions. Would that have to change?

The 3 digit system has target lines with 4 rec'd digits. I'm trying to avoid a complete reprogramming of either system.

I think that the private target lines for each system will need to have one assigned to each extension number to allow incoming calls to get through.
