Hello to all!

I'm having a problem as I just received a BCM 3.7 that functions fine but will not receive a restore from anoter 3.7 configuration. It came to me with BCM OS200.002 installe and no other patches. I have a list of patches suggesting that the order is supposed to be installed is:
UPGRADE ORDER
1. SU99.3
>
> 2. CORE
>
> 3. VM 22.0110
>
> 4. RCC.61.358 (MAKE SURE TO DISABLE THE RCC SERVER B4 Updating!!!!)
>
> 5. OS 2.00.002

When I tried to install the SU99.3 it acts as if the files are already on the BCM but when I try to complete the patch cehecking off the 2nd box to run the patch, ,it just goes to the frist step "Accessing Required Updates"- "In Progress" and stays at that step even if left overnight.I've since installed all the other patches to see if maybe I can get it working,, but am still stuck with being unable to complete the patch or transfer any restore program.

Is there a way to delete the SU00 patch files on the hard drive so it will transfer a new set of flles and do the upgrade with a new clean set or is it time to put a new harddrive and start over?

Thanks!

I think you are going to have problems. I also recently played about with an old BCM 200 at 3.7 and found that there is a specific order in stalling them. I seem to recall that I had to read the readme notes for every patch that I looked at so that I didn't create any corruption.

I also found that I could only use Windows XP as Windows 7 wasn't able to work for me. As you are doing a restore, I think your main problem will be as you have found out "patch incompatibility"

Unlike the later Linux versions, the older NT ones needed to be matched up in order for a restore to work. You could try a restore and ignore the compatibility errors but you might end up with more problems afterwards.

You might end up having to restore ir all my manual programming.

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

I tdoesn't come up with any incompatability issues, it sust acts as if the patch files have already been installed, and only offers you the second check box to execute the patch. I tried going in on the serial port to see if I could find the ptch files to delete them but didn't find anything that sounded like SU99.3? I just thought if the original files were deleted it might write a complete and clean uptdate to the disk? Maybe it's time to gie up and start over with a new drive. A lot more time obviously.
