I dont know what i am doing differently, but i am trying to create a 3.7 HDD using nortels BIT tool but after the BCM has been initialized, the apache server (and other vital services) wont start.
I have tried creating the images with ghost, i have tried redownloading new images off the website, i have tried putting the new HDD into different BCMs but still apache and others wont start!?

even net start apache fails.

Your most likely having problems with the files bcm.cer and server.key in the c:\program files\apache group\apache\certs

login to the tty and goto the command prompt
type the following:

c:
cd\program files\apache group\apache\certs
openssl x509 -noout -text -in bcm.cer |more

Paste the results of that command and I'll continue.

Reimage the drive, but before you do the Initialization Profile, set the date on the BCM to Jan 1, 2008..

This can be done using option 7 from the main menu (using the com port on the BCM) then at the C:\ prompt, type DATE <enter> and change the date..

There is a known problem with the Imaging programming and changing the DATE as DBrewsky said is the work around until Nortel comes out with a new Fix for this problem.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Mainly the Date. and you can set it back further. On some of the older BCM upgrade CD's for 3.6 you also need to set the Date back to 2007 on the PC the CD is in or the Upgrade won't work. I don't know way Nortel messes with the date thing.

Love your work DBewsky changing the date fixing everything. I did think of the date being the issue, but i was changing the data after i initialised universal profile :(
Cheers

I don`t want to hi jack this thread but i had the same problem after upgrading a system to 3.7 from 3.6 recently, I fixed it by replacing the c:\program files\apache group\apache directory from a working BCM is it the same fault ?

I did the same, although, you only need the BCM.cer and Server.key files form a working BCM.

As long as the MODULUS portion of the BCM.CER and SERVER.KEY files match, apache will start. Those files are located in c:\program files\apache group\apache\certs

Thanks, but i would guess that would just be enough to get the BCM off to a crawl. I also found other problems other than apache not starting like, not being able to quick start, not being able to apply patches, so i think setting the date before initializing is the safest option

Changing the date is Nortels recommendation, so why not just do it the easy way.
