Anyone have pots(loop start) on a 3.2?
Was lending phone assistance to someone today, and the trunks and config seemed fine, but no inbound or outbound.
Suggestions anyone?

Yes,

look at the thread about the Adit 600. The service is an integrated T1 where they fan off 4-6 POTS lines through what I call a channel bank. I verified my programming by connecting one of the analog ports (ext. 201) to the trunk port, called in works fine. I am still fighting with the carrier, which happens to be a CLEC, not ma bell. This problem has only to do with inbound calls.

by the way, I was originally a 3.1.56. Upgraded to 3.2.17 had no effect. Somebody told my carrier we had to be 3.3.
I don't think Avaya is to that rev yet. Carrier claimed their vendor got a patch. Trying to back track to actual vendor to get real scoop.

there is no 3.3, they don't know what they're talking about. Next rls in the pipeline is 4.0. In fact, the invite for alpha/beta testers came out like 3 days after 3.2 went GA, so 3.3 isn't even a thought.

Thats too funny. I posted a FAQ about analog lines and the very tight specs that need to be met (but are within the national standards organization guidelines). I'd make them meet those guidelines.

I had issues w/ inbound/outbound calls as well as consistent Caller ID from Bell. Switched to Time Warner's VoIP service (where the connection from the "CO" and me is only 5 feet long (as their box sits right next to the PBX) and all of those issues went away.

Hope this helps...

If you are running this off of anolog quad trunk card see if you can find the older version of the cards they are far less sensitive. We have had several issues as of late in channel bank situations. The trunk works fine from a but-set but the IP office will not brake dial tone and some times inbound fails as well.

Swapped over to the earlier quad cards with success at all three sites.

We attempted to do battle with the carrier to no avail. We got tired of the fight and having a customer with a down system.

milestoned,

if we try an order a older trunk card, how do we knoe that it is old enough? Different comcode, peccode, rev number on the board? I've talked witha couple of suppliers trying to ID older boards, and they don't know (the product well enough and neither do we).

The white hair growing out of its ears. :)

Seriously, the COM CODE probably won't be different unless you're talking about the difference between the Analog trunk 4 mod w/ echo cancellation, or without. What you'll most likely be looking for is a PCS rev.
