All,
We have an SCN with a 406 and VM Pro and a 403 at the remote site. I upgraded from 1.4 to 3.0 over the weekend.
A couple issues I have encountered.
With phonemanager I am getting an error everytime it connects. My extension is a softphone voip extension. The error text is "Could not retreive the user email IDs from the IPOffice". Cannot find anything in documentation about email except for Instant Messaging which I have off. Has anybody else seen this or figured it out? I removed my previous speed dials but that did not make a difference.
I have not had a chance to try version 3 on a normal pro extension yet. I do like the fact that phonemanager now reconnects all the time since I roam across many networks with my tablet pc.
Another weird situation is that I have a 4412D+ phone that worked fine on version 1.4 but will not turn on after 3.0 upgrade to either a 403 or a 30 port Digital unit. The voicemail light just blinks and no connection light comes on the IPOffice port. Actually tested it on the second upgrade just to verify it was not the phone. Worked before but not after. I remember seeing something about power levels being adjusted and I am assuming this is the case. I have another one and it does not have the problem so it must be a flaky phone that needs more power to kick on.
Also got VM Pro setup with SMTP now. Had to get a email address in the setup first before my mil server would accept the mail from within custom menus. The voicemail copies or forwards from IPOffice user setup default a return address but using an email menu in VM flow does not. Not explicitly listed in the forums but could be a problem for others. The control panel configuration needs a email entered to be the return email for these.
I do like all the changes that can be made without a reboot now.
I thought I saw something about dial paging for voicemail pro but I do not see anything explicit in the call options, anybody tried this?
I also noticed that the ring patterns are listed in the help to only be for analog lines but I have digital and IP 4400 series phone users who had different rings with version 1.4. I tested with a 6400 series digital phone and still working with V3 but a 4406IP user says it is not now. Anyone have any diffinitive testing with this?
I use PRI T-1's at each site, each from a different Provider. I have two WAN connection in between that I have tried to setup dynamic routing in between but this does not seem to be working. I have always wanted to use LCR to use dialing long distance as a backup, especially since the autoattendant is centraloized. Has this been updated for V3 for PRI connections?
Lastly, I have seen some questions about cellular integration. What I have setup works pretty slick. I have a custom voicemail for each user, which the caller can press 1 for voicemail which first sends an email to their cell with the caller ID. Otherwise can press two to transfer to their cell phone which is a phantom extension with forwarding. If you use an assisted transfer to trasfer the call it will pass the original caller ID to the cell phone. This way they see the extension or outside number that is calling instead of the ID of the trunk line. This works on my PRI's anyway.
Thanks
Clay
