I have a three pc network at home . The first comp has 2 nics and is connected to cable modem the other two are connected thru a netgear hub to the second nic . I can access all shared files thru all comps on the network but only the one hooked thru cable modem will access the internet , that`s the problem . I am running XP on the comp with the two nics and ME and 98 SE on the other two.
The onboard nic is the one hooked to the cable modem . The other two thru the second nic but cannot access the internet . I have ran the XP wizard for setup and ran the floppy on the other two for networking as I said I can share files thru any of the three ( The lan is working fine ) but cannnot access internet on the ME or 98 SE ???
Thx :)

Thx for response but onboard nic is set to share . I have gone thru setup several times but still the same problem .

ICS Troubleshooting:
If you have been using static IPs on your LAN, this likely is a problem.

The ICS Host machine must have an IP of 192.168.0.1. It is better to let it obtain its IP automaticly after ICS is enabled.

The other two clients can use 192.168.0.2, and 192.178.0.3
The subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, and the Gateway is 192.168.0.1.

Second common issue: ICS is enable on the wrong adapter. You want to make sure that the cable modem connected adapter is enabled for sharing, and not the LAN adapter.
