Depending on the response here, I am looking to install a 2nd T1 into a clients existing Merlin Legend.First time for a T1 install on Merlin Legend.Looking for a "checklist" of things to do. I am willing to pay for phone support on cutover day. Please help.

We'll need to know:
Merlin release
T1 Module you'll being using
CSU, CSU/DSU you'll be using (if necessary)
What type of C.O. switch you'll be connecting to, i.e.: 5ESS, DMS100

Type of T1, i.e.: Standard or PRI
If standard, will it be allocated as Tie-Line, Loop-Start, Ground-Start, DID or a combination.

Will you be using for Data also?

Thanks Franke. I will get that info tomorrow.

B8ZS/ESF
DTMF
4 WIRE
E&M
WINK

No DID range just a long distance T1 (Global Crossing)

Legend ds1 T1 card
CSU- Paradyne 120a2

Rel 7.0

Looks like a standard T1:
LinesTrunks > LS/GS/DS1 > Dial slot no. > ENTER > Type > T1 > ENTER > All Tie > ENTER

Frame Format
LinesTrunks > LS/GS/DS1 > Dial slot no. > ENTER > FrameFormat > Extentended Superframe > ENTER > BACK > BACK

Zero Code Suppresion
Suppresion > B8ZS > ENTER > BACK

Dial Mode
LinesTrunks > TIE Lines > Dial Mode > Inmode or Out Mode > Dial trunk number > change from rotary to touch-tone > ENTER

Leave other settings at default.

Since you did not mention the type of DS1 module you have, I'll add that if it is a 100-DCD or 100-R, do NOT activate the onboard CSU, since you'll be using an external CSU.

Since this is your second T1, you could also set this slot as your secondary clock- syncronization source.

When your sure everything is working correctly, add your new trunks to a pool and add that pool to your ARS routing table(s)
