BCM 400, Rls 4.0. if I have 2 intercom keys, is there a way to make the second one flash instead of ring? Customer wants to not hear the ring when they are on a call and a second one comes in.

If u use fwd busy, make sure your lines aren't appear & ring & also ring other phones.

no fwd busy, just want that second call to appear, not ring.

make a hunt group, and do fwd buzy to the hunt group. Set the hunt group to appear only.

hototot is correct. DND on Busy is a big fat liar. It should be called forward all calls to voicemail even though I have open intercom keys and cause strange problems with busy signals on target lines.

After all these years and trying that feature over and over I have never found a real use for it.

Does anyone know why it is there or found a successful way to implement it?

hototot never really described the scenario but i suspect its internal callers that's causing the problem because I have been asked this many times before..

cook1802 solution with DND on busy enabled on the set should solve this problem

dbullion never had these problems you describe as good practice i always enable DND on busy on all sets apart from the receptionist on all new installs..

DND on busy makes all other appearances and intercom keys busy once one intercom is in use, then the sets forwards on busy are used

If its not broke tweak it..

cook1802, so most of your users can't get a second call when they are on the first call?

On a Norstar or BCM I think of DND as just turning your ringer off.

DND on busy Fwds all calls to VMail when the user is on a call. If all the intercom paths are tied up the caller get busy signals.

I have tried to use this feature for many years. In every case I always end up turning it off eventually.

If I am missing something someone please let me know. I am always looking for new tips and tricks and DND on busy has always been a problem feature for me.
