Hi,

I am having problem in interfacing the Meridian Option 61C DTI 2MB card (CAS Signalling) with CISCO 3640 router. CISCO is using VWIC-1MFT-E1 card for this connectivity. I have configured the 2MB DTI card as TIE trunk in Meridian.

The status of the Card is Sync but all the channles are in "Lockout" state.

Does any one have any information or experiance of this type of connectivity and can help me?

Did ring a bell with me but left that employer some time ago. Retrieved some config settings (DCH, TRK, RDB & LPTI) though.

Hope following helps you out,
DISL en ENLL and good luck
regs,
@win
Please note that these were setting used in Holland.

OEPS, these were the settings on a PRI ...

Try to check the ABCD bit signal format of your E1 if it matches the format with the other side, in your case your cisco router. I have had similar experience in setting up a link with an Opt61 to a EWSD Siemens PSTN. You can check, use the default values or make your own at LD 73. If possible send the setting of the router. Hope this helps.

Utreg! thanks for providing good information, but that is for PRI E1 and I am looking for the CAS E1. Any way thanks for it.

simplyme! yes this all the problem of ABCD bits and that is what I want to know for CISCO side. I have ABCD bit patern for M1 but not for CISCO. CISCO guy is unable to tell.

I'm still trying to get hold of the information you need for your cisco. I will inform you as soon as I have it.

Hi,

We need to know the model , software and the country standard or country where it is going to be installed to determine the bit signals to be used before we can give a sound advice.

Me

We are using Meridian Option 61C with DTI2 ( 2Mb CAS Signalling card) and CISCO router 3640 with VWIC-1MFT-E1 card.

I want to know has this problem been resolved. It seems that the Cisco E1 CAS "support" R2 protocol but we want to run it as a plain CAS E&M signaling. Could anyone advise if this is acheviable?

Dear Winning,

I don't know if the problem of masbar has been resolved but I don't have any one who could supply me the information on the cisco router so that I could more or less adjust the side of the nortel. My problem was solved with the replacement of the software of the Option61 with a higher release version at least rel. 24. I think this is achievable by not assigning R2 or MF signal on the class of service but instead assign DTN but still you would have to have the bit signal (ABCD) E&M the same as the Cisco router.

Simplyme

The problem was solved when CISCO engineer configured the router for R2 signalling.

Mabsar, would you mind posting the configuration details on both the Cisco and Meridian?

Dear simplyme,

Could you share your configuration files as well, we'll be using Rel 25.30 on the PABX. I think we could customise a suitable SCAS configuration to match with the Cisco's but you're right in saying that no one has a clear understanding on how Cisco manipulate the ABCD bits. We don't want to use R2 MFC since if require extra XMFC card at the PABX to handle the signaling.

Regards,

At PABX side, I used all default programming and did not change any bit setting. However for CISCO, I will request that engineer if he can provide me the configuration.
