2KSERVER TRUST PROBLEM

I HAVE BEEN SETTING TWO WAY TRUST BETWEEN TWO 2 SERVERS ONE IN LONDON AND BIRMINGHAM, EVEN THOUGH I CAN PING EACH SERVER WHEN I TRY TO SET THE TRUST BETWEEN THEM I HAVE GOT THIS MSG "PRIMARY DOMAIN CONTROLLER FOR THE LONDON/BIRMINGHAM CAN'T BE OBTAINED, THE RPC IS UNAVAILABLE, THEN IT SAYS "MAKE SURE PDC IS OPERATING".

THEN I TRYIED TO SEE TERMAIN SERVICE MANAGER AND SEE IF THE DOMAIN IS THERE IT IS THERE AND CONNECTED.

ANY IDEA WHY THAT IS, LOOKING 4 YOUR HELP.

Hi, I have had a few issues related to trust relationships. I am assuming these are two separate domains you are trying to trust? I had to do this recently, what you need to do is to be able to resolve the name of remote DCs on the foreign domain. To do this you will need to add the DNS server of the foreign domain to the root hints tab in DNS properties of your DNS server and the same on the foreign domain's DNS server (add yours). That was you will be able resolve the names and be able to establish the trust.
