I replicate over 20 databases on 2 clusters from a live environment to a backup mirror site using transactional replication.
Just about every day when I check the status, several replications have broken reporting "General Network Error. Check your network documentation". The agents are set to retry every 10 minutes for an hour, yet there are always a couple that I have to restart. Whats strange is that some replications will be working fine while others from the same server break. There aren't any network problems, especially nothing preventing communication between the two sites for an hour!
Another issue:
Today I came in and about half of my publications had been "marked inactive and must be reinitialized". What can cause this to happen? Having to run the snapshot agent and re-synchronizing the whole thing is a major pain, as I have to wait until after business hours since it locks the database while running (no good for our customers)
thanks
