2GB limitation error

Hi...

We encounting some problem with our Sun Solaris server version 2.6 where it have problem with a single file which larger than 2GB. this problem alway cause us problem when dealing with database administration work.

At the moment we dont have plan to upgrade to latest Version. Are there any patches that we can download from Sun web site in order to solve this 2GB limitation problem

32-bit UNIX systems can only handle files < 2GB
since the programming model is IPL32. Some years
ago (1995?) the Large File Summit extensions were
agreed upon as a way of overcoming the 2GB file size
limit in 32-bit systems (ftello(), fseeko(), etc.)

Solaris and all modern Unices include support for
the LFS extensions.
 
Thanx guy.. I had tried all the solution but still unable to fix this problem. I think we have no choice but to upgrade our Unix version... cause the current version really lack of many thing. Thanx for all the help...
