Has anybody been able to create, backup, restore, (etc) files larger than 2GB? I'm aware of the special binaries in /u95/bin, but have been unable to create a file which exceeds 2GB. The filesystem is type vxfs.

A few of our installations are starting to bump up against that limit.

Ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Nevermind.
I was able to go beyond the 2GB limit using /u95/bin/cpio, but you have to play with your ulimit value as well. Interestingly, once a single file in a directory exceeds 2GB, the entire directory listing using "ls -l" appears differently. The file size values are all left-justified. Odd.
Also, the standard "rm" binary cannot remove a large file, you have to use the /u95/bin/rm binary.
I'd put /u95/bin at the front of my $PATH variable, except there are some reported incompatibilities which might cause grief.

Just FYI...
