I'm having some problems changing a 2D image into a 3D one in Illustrator. My 2D object isn't a regular shape, which is why I think I'm having a problem. I also tried in Photoshop and got the same result. The programs really distort the object when it changes it into 3D. I was wondering if anyone knew how I could do this so it looks like an actual 3D figure, and not some distorted thing.
I'm trying to change a side view of some wood siding into a 3D view of the siding. I also tried coping 2 copies of the side, and connecting them by lines by hand in Photoshop, which worked, but now I can't add color to the sections. So pretty much help on either issue would be wonderful. If you have another program that you think would work, please let me know. I've tried 3D max but all my outlines are too big for it.
