2800 router can only see weird symbols in HyperTerminal

Dear All,

I try to do a password recovery and after I power cycle my 2800 cisco router only display weird charaters and symbols. I had reboot again and again but to no avail.

Can anyone pls help.

Is your terminal emulator set for 9600,8,n,1 ? If yes and you are still seeing garbage try setting hyperterm to different speeds , someone may have messed with the config register.
