Help! My network guy is out of town and what my ISP is telling me doesn't make sense. We have a Cisco 2620 with two T1's. These are supposed to be bonded together--at least that's what we paid somebody to do about three years ago, with the ISP's assistance.

We had an issue earlier today with losing connectivity to a remote site. Called the ISP and the tech guy says we were trying to push more than 1.5Mb/s. I told him the T1's are bonded together. He says they aren't. That would explain the connection issues...

How can I determine if they are (their tech guys have been wrong on a number of occasions)? I have attached the results of a show interface command:

Ok, it looks like I should have posted a show config. Here are the results:

that is a fairly standard config

you peer to your isp on a single bgp session which is most likely a loopback interface on their side..

you then have two equal cost static routes going to that peer.. one through s0/0 and one through s0/1

so by default your router will do per destination load balancing over the two t1s.

now you will never get 3mb of traffic all in one shot.. but if you have many connections you will get 3mb throughput total..

understand what im saying? they wil load balance.. but they are not "bonded"

in order for that to work im pretty sure you need to add

ip cef

to your config...

Here --- sh ip interface brief

#sh ip interface brief
Interface IP-Address OK? Method Status Protocol
FastEthernet0/0 12.46.232.33 YES NVRAM up up
FastEthernet0/1 unassigned YES NVRAM up down
Serial0/2/0 unassigned YES NVRAM up up
Serial0/3/0 unassigned YES NVRAM up up
Multilink1 12.116.x.x YES NVRAM up up

See the Multilink!

Also if you download a "bandwidth monitor" that uses snmp you would be able to see what your multilink is doing.

Help, Like many others I am attempting to do voip over serial interfaces. I need a way to Bond 3 t1's and reduce cpu utilization. I am using vrf Tunneling to reach my Satellites. Will Multilink ppp encap. work or will I have to use default cef.
