2616CT Cordless handset ringer not working

Hi:
I just programmed a 2616CT cordless phone into my 61C. All works fine except for the handset ringer. The cordless handset does not ring when there is an incoming call. The light on the handset flashes to indicate an incoming call, and the line button lights up, but no audible ringing is heard. Is this a programming issue on the switch or do you think I have a bad handset? I realize the 2616CT was discontinued due to problems but the company I purchased it from informs me it tested fine. If anyone can shed some light on this for me that would be great.

if key 0 is mcr pvr or scr, it's the handset.. my best guess without more testing..
