Our office manager just ordered us new 2616 and 2216 phones for our Option 61C release 25.40. However, instead of shipping us rls. 3 phones, the supplier sent us rls. 2 phones. I know the 39xx series sets can be flash updated via the switch. Can the 2616 and 2216 phones do the same? If so, how?

Thanks again.

NOPE, FIRMWARE ON 2616 AN 2216 ARE WRITTEN IN STONE

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS

Dang it... I was afraid of that. Thanks for the quick response.

Ok... so the release 2 phones aren't the problem because of couple of them are working. On top of that, the release 3 phones won't work in some locations also. So, something is wrong with the ports I am using on the switch. I have checked to make sure Symposium doesn't have them acquired since these phones aren't for agents, but I am at a loss as to what else I can try.

All that happens when I plug the phones in is that the buttons continually blink with no text on the display. Any idea what this could mean?

You didn't mention the problem you are facing.
Maybe post the TN which is working and the TN with isn't (or compare it yourself).

All sets were copied from a set that currently works, and are setup identically with the exception of having different DNs assigned to them. Could having too many phones on the same Speed Call List be causing this type of problem?

have you used these ports before? anything special like additional keysets?
as I remember you can configure the size of the speedcall-lists during setup.
correct TYPE in the TNBs? usually no problem mixing 2216 and 2616, but some day used relocation-service, plugged a 2616 in a port which was programmed for 2216... switch initialized. but that was rel. 21.

All these ports are programed for 2616's and they've all been used in the past.

I've had this (all keys flashing) when I've had a digi phone plugged into a falc card. Although the switch was configured for the slot to be a DGTL someone had put a falc in

Happiness is.....

I thought of that and checked it, and the card is a DLC. There are a quite a few other phones programmed on this card already and they work fine. Also, the phones that aren't working are programmed on four different cards in two different loops.

If you print the state of this card do the ports show as IDLE or maybe DSBL?
If IDLE disable them and the enable them
If DSBL enable them.
Again is might be handy if you past 2 tn's in here.
