I'm going to be rolling out a 2600 router configured with 8 POTS lines all wired up to various FXS ports (I'm getting the HD-Voice with 4 FXS and an 8 FXS expansion module for it).

Here's our config :
- Call Manager 3.3.4 SR1a
- 2600XM router with 12 FXS ports wired to around 9 POTS lines
- Around 6 7960 phones.

I'm not too hot on router-based gateways in Call Manager, however, and although we have a basic config working for incoming and outgoing calls, I have a question :

* I'd like to set the system so that we have one main reception 7960 which rings when a certain POTS line takes a call. Fair enough, but what I'd like that phone to do is to use a different POTS line for outgoing calls, so that if that phone is making a call, the incoming reception number can either hunt to another phone, or go to voicemail.

I'm assuming this is possible, and indeed with MGCP gateways, it's all fairly straightforward.

Really, ideally, I'd like all the internal phones in the office to use a "Route-List" type functionality so that all outgoing calls are made from a certain set of say 4 POTS lines, while all incoming lines stay free (unless someone calls in the way).

Can anyone advise? Post back if I've missed anything obvious or more information is required.

You are on the right track. Create a route list of your outbound lines and assign the route pattern to that route list.

Thanks, Congogrey, that's what I thought.

However, any idea of the command's required to actually configure this on a 2600? I've done very little IOS gateway config, so this is a little out of my league.
