2600 Router IOS Upgrade guidance needed 2

I have a number of 2600 series routers that I need to upgrade the IOS on to support MLPPP and multiple T1 circuits. I have not upgraded the IOS on a router since taking Cisco classes and doing so in a lab setting years ago. I know performing the upgrade via a TFTP server is much faster than using the console port and XModem. Is there a certain TFTP server you recommend over others that I can download? If I install the TFTP server on my laptop and have the router in question setting here on my desk, do I connect to the fastether net port of one of the serial ports? Can I do so via a straight through cable, or is it best to route it through my network on the same subnet? Any other guidance you can provide would be appreciated. I will NOT be performing these upgrades remotely, but will have all the units here where I can get my hands on them.

I would set up a little network with your laptop and the router. Assign an IP to the FastEth port of the router, assign an IP in the same subnet to your laptop, and just make sure you can ping (you need a crossover cable for this, though).
