2600 password recovery problem

i put a super quality password on my 2600
router, and now forget! .
i tried the cisco way (

but somehow did not work. My problem is
i get into rommon prompt and i do :
rommon 1>confreg 0x2102 (this hex number is my 2600's "show version&quot
rommon 2>reset

it reboots and comes the router prompt
when i say "enable" i again see the password
dialogue!
would you please help me ?
ps :i use a HP700/92 terminal to config my 2610.

2102 is the default register. You want to say:

confreg 0x2142

Once you have gotten in, you'll need to change it back to 0x2102.
