Hi everyone!
I am a unix systems administrator in our company. We have IDS 9.3 that runs on AIX 4.3.3. WE encountered a network connection error (25582) when one of our developers is testing a batch process. We have been using the script eversince and we did not encounter the said error. It was until 3 weeks ago that we had the said error. It was reported to our DBA and she tried to fix the error. She told us that she even encountered an error when she tried to dbimport the instance. She even told us that she had problems wih the raw devices for temp. She used cooked files instead of raw devices and it worked but it was so slow. She then asked me to remove the cooked files and recreate the raw devices.
I was just wondering what could have been the problem? Now, she wants the developer to edit their script and use a shared memory connection instead of tli connection. We are a bit hesitant to change the connection for all other AIX servers use tli connection.
Can someone give us a light on this matter. We will appreciate all your input. Thanks in advance!
