Hello Cisco guru's,

I have a 2501 router (2 seriel, 1 AUI) and a 1924C switch (24 eth, 1 fa, 1 AUI). Can I simply use an AUI to AUI (15 pin) cable for connectivity? or can I use a pri cable to go from the router (aui port, db15 pol) to the switch (rj45 eth int)?

Thanks,
Big100

Nope---use a transceiver from the router to ethernet on the switch. They're only a few bucks on Ebay.

burtsbees,

Thanks, starting to make sense now. So the transceiver basically changes the aui db15 on the router to an rj45 interface, therefore I can use any of the 24 ethernet ports on my switch?

A huge Thankyou,
Big100
