Ok heres the problem. I wanted to upgrade the flash so i added more memory. I started the router and i got an error that the memory was reversed.

ERR: Invalid chip 0x80AB (reversed = 0x1D5 ) detected in System flash

So now i took the memory out and the router doesnnt respond at all to the console. When you reboot, it shows everything in the console all the way to what is pasted here

Now when i push return the router doesnt respond at all. And yes the connection to the console is working fine because i tested it out with another router and no problems.
Does anyone know what i could have done wrong? Is there any way to reset the router to manufactured defaults?

Any help is very much appreciated.

Eliminate simplest first (process of elimination).

1. Do you have another router to try with your current setup.
2. Try using another computer.
3. Varied the roller cable, PC Com port, router console and the connecter.

If all esle fail, I heard you can access the router from AUX of another router.

I had the same problem this week and it works itself out after poking arroud.

I tried all three suggestions, but still samething. Different cables, different computer etc. But the same cable works fines with my other router. Like i said, it just stopped responding after the memory error message that i got earlier.

You probably need a new boot rom for the router. Older boot roms only recognized certain types of flash simms (intel & possibly others)
