250 won't backup 1

Octel Aria250 won't do the backup. when I check the log after trying to back up the system, it shows: Process status as failed and the reason is Tape Drive Reset. I ahve replaced the tape with a new one and that didn't make a difference, so I tried an old tape that I know to be good (or at least it was the last time it was used).


any suggestions?

You can try running a cleaning tape three or four times. Then schedule a back up. But after so many years the tape drives reach the end of their life. Most likely the tape drive will need to be replaced or refurbished.

Or it may be a bad tape. Try only backing up data and not messages and see if it makes it all the way with out an error. You might also try resetting the tape unit by busying it out and pulling it and then reinserting it and enabling it.

Ken - Have tried several tapes ( new and old) again No love. Will try your other suggestion this weekend and hope it works. If not looks like a call to Avaya (or whatever their name is this week)
