I know these phones aren't supported until V3, but I have a new client who wants these phones and the install will be happening soon. Can anyone say exactly how well they work presently....what functionality is missing etc and if they do actually work and won't annoy people too much until V3!

Cheers.

Hi Folks

Don't even go there. Our little story is they appeared on our price list for the new quarter and nobody knew they weren't supported until v3. We ordered and installed some for a customer on a Small Office Edition, the short answer is !!ouch!! the phone works as in you can make and receive calls however very little is displayed on the display.

My advice is wait until v3, it isn't far away or use 2420's.[dazed] or %-)

k thanks for that. We've told them they won't work so we are going to lend them some 6408s in the mean time. I just wanted to see if they were actually useable etc - just so we wouldn't have to go back to site!

Cheers.

I'm using a 2410 with v3 and I must say it works great ! A lot better than the 4610 IP version.

You don't need to worry about that anymore, someone (forgive me for not remembering) posted an excellent tip just the other day on how to resolve that issue, I think the thread was titled "2420 button labels" or very similiar, check it out.

Actually tried the trick you're refering to today and was very please.

Wanted to program a button on a 2420 to forward calls to the users voicemail box.

Added a system short code of:
VOICE / "#U" / VoicemailCollect.

Then for one of the users buttons, set it to Dial and the telephone number to VOICE.

Works a treat - displays button as VOICE. When user answers call that they want to transfer to their mailbox - press TRANSFER, press VOICE, press TRANSFER.

?Why - aim to let user divert fax calls received on their DDI to their mailbox and thus to the System Fax Number set in Voicemail Pro.

Will test it without the # tommorrow to speed up the VM answering.
