How can we enable a 24-port SLC-24 card?

I tried enabling all the other 8 ports (from a default of 16 ports enabled) which eventually becomes a 24-port enabled card.

However, the base stations didn't seem to work. The SDSU status shows all are READY but the BS-4 base stations are red-green then reboots again and again.

Is there something I miss?

Hi,
On the SLC24
The first 16 can be used for connections to Base Stations.
The LAST 8 are for data only
Here is an example:

Use Pair 1 for Base 1 Connection 1
Use Pair 16 for Base 1 Connection 2
Use Pair 17 for Base 1 Connection 3

Use Pair 2 for Base 2 Connection 1

etc.

Each Pair handles 4 conversations
Last 8 pairs on card must be fitted to either second or third place on base station

Can the last 8 be used for base stations too?

YES
But only as the 2nd or 3rd pair on the base stations
The first/1st pair has to be from the first 16 on the card

Our base stations are configured like a cellular coverage where all cordless phones are able to roam from base to base. But the SLC24 seems to be defaulted to 16 ports only. If I try to enable port 17 to 23 it doesnt work. The power comes up at the BS4 but it continues to load and reload only.

I connect pin 2 and 3 on the BS4.

Do you mean to say that I should use pin 4 and 5 on the BS4?

Pins 2&3 have to be connected to one of the first 16 pairs and give 4 simultaneous calls
Pins 4&5 give the possibility of 4 more simultaneous calls and can be connected to either the first 16 pairs or the last 8
Pins 6&7 give the possibility of 4 more simultaneous calls and can be connected to either the first 16 pairs or the last 8

The Base Station ports have to be activated using the CAT Tool
Cordless/Modules and Base Stations/BS Ports Overview

If you are not familiar with the setup of DECT on HiPath 4000 it would be best to call in someone who is or get them to log on remotely to do that for you...

You will need licenses as well for each pair used on each base station

Thanks SBCSU! I will try to use the pins 4 & 5, and see if it will turn up and stabilize.
Yes, I know the basics of the CATool ;-)
