the above phone extension is not working properly. When she is on the phone it does not tell the receptionist she is "on another line" it just rings.

231 doesn''t show as busy on display

Has the receptionist got an internal key programmed for the extension.Or is it only when dialed manually.
Have you tried enabling DND on busy to see if they get an engaged tone?
Have checked that there are no call forwards on the phone?
