John Poole.

On the connector at the 2250 console. What is the pinout on the 25 pin connector and the correspondent 8 pin connector?

I have two systems, each with distinct 25pin/rj45 connectors. One site has 2 pairs and another has 4 pairs. Site 1 with connector 1, with 2 pairs works ok on site 1 console1, when putting the console in night mode. Site 2 with connector 2, with a 4 pair connector 2 works ok in site 2 console2 but puts night mode into busy. Console1 works ok with connector 2 at site 2, but Console 1 and connector 1 do not work in site 2? Both connector 1 and 2 have a CAT5 cable to the phone room.

doesn't sound like a wiring problem, two pair are for primary and secondary tn's, the two pair past that are lamp power, needed if the display is dim due to loop length. ld 21 prt nit, that dn is (should) be the night answer point when the console goes to nights... no extra or special wiring needed for night answer point

John,

Thank you. Can you please tell me the pinouts on the female 25 pin and internally to the 8 pin RJ45. All of the sites have the regular 25 pair cable, except for two of my sites which have a CAT5 cable ending with an RJ45 connector and then attaching to a 25pin connector with an 8pin connector.

from memory..

25 pin.. blues and oranges for TN's, red/oranges & red/greens for power

blues to rj45 pinout 4 & 5
oranges to rj45 pinout 1 & 2
red/oranges to rj45 pinout 3 & 6
red/greens to rj45 pinout 7 & 8

try that it's close...

thank you. thank you. will create the connectors for both sites so that I have consistency.

LCIS:

You are on target and so is ZOG 99. Is it possible you give me the rest of the pinouts RJ pins 1&2 and 7&8 going to the 25 pin connector?

Thank you John Poole and LCIS. John Poole do you have the pinouts for all 8 pins of the RJ45 vs. the 25Pin? I believe that the site which has the 4 pins has a very dimly lit display. I want to use all 8 pins on the 25p/8Pin connector. The sad part is that I lost the original 4 pin connector which worked at one site, but not the other. I will use the 4 pin connector according to LCIS specs for one site, but I still want to use the 8 pin for the 2nd site.

pins 1-2 and 7-8 are power, that controls your lamp voltage, you need 24v dc on those pins, but i don't remember which is +, normal would be pins 1-2, but nortel doesn't support that setup, so it's not in the book. only way to be sure is to meter the red blue in the console back to the pins and that is positive

John Poole,

Do you have the descriptions of each pin on the 25 pin connector at the 2250 Console?
