Hi

I'm trying to turn on the radio on a 2220, but can't get the login to work. All my settings are as per the manual, but when I connect to it, this is what happens:

AP boots up, hyperterminal shows various boot messages.
It then sits waiting with 'Username' prompt.
I type in 'nortel' minus quotes as per manual and press enter.
Nothing happens...according to the book it should then prompt me for the blank password. I've left it for 15 minutes in case it just needed a while, but nothing.

Any ideas? This is driving me mad, all I need to do is enable the radio and I'm away.

Cheers

Leave username blank, type in nortel as password.

Great idea, but no cigar! Hitting enter after the username prompt just does a carriage return then nothing again. This is what I'm left with:

Please wait...
Ready
Username
_ (blinking cursor)

A little more info - I have 2 more to set up, and they are all doing the same, so I'm thinking it's something on my pc side (or cable????) rather than the AP.

Fixed - cable was not quite right, as soon as I put a 100% working one on it would take the input. Cheers anyway.

Are you using Hyperterm std edition or Private edition.
There are problems ???? with std edition tyring to use console port(s) on Nortel equipment.

I was using standard hyperterminal in windows xp. Had also tried it from a win 98 box.
