We have designed a program using Visual Basic and Crystal Reports 6. The program is put on the server in a folder that the user is given right to. The ODBC are set up for connection to the database. The problem have just started recently on one computer at a paticular site. The other computer are able to print the reports, but this particular computer come up with this errorevery time she tries to print:

20527 -SQL Server Error

This happens everytime this particular computer goes to print. I have talked to the user and she have not add anything new to her computer, she was printing reports on Thursday and then on Friday this message begins to appear. I have check the cryst32.ocx file and it is on her C:\Window\System file, so I don't have any idea where to go from here. Have anyone ever came across a problem like this, if so please let me know.

No the premission have not changed, the user had used the program that morning and no problems. Then all of a sudden this problem appears everytime she tries to print the crystal report. The crystal report almost come up, but the error appears instead.

It could a lot of things. Like the C: drive is full. The \Temp directory got deleted.

Can the user print other documents of the same size with another app like Word?

Yes, she can print word documents, and excel spead sheets.

If you go to:

And type "20527" to Ask Jeeves you get 5 support documents ranging from a bad ORDER BY clause to an empty ADO recordset. Whether any of them is your case, I don't know.

Can another user run the same reports with the same parameters that doesn't work on that PC?

The strange thing is that another user is able to use the same program and they have no problem printing at all. And this other users is in the same building, using the same server, but a different computer. The program was developed for only one user on the program at one time . I know the error that would appear if there were two users trying to use the program. Thanks for the link but I've already checked that web out first, before bothering you guys. :)

No clear answer. But, something has to be different on the 2 PCs. Since it stopped working something has to have changed in the environment. The task will be to isolate and test every variable.

What if she logs in on the other PC?
What if someone else logs in on hers?
That would rule out permission problems. Ken Hamady, On-site/Phone Crystal Reports Training/Consulting

We tried that, but I think it may have something to do with her hard drive. Another programmer that is helping me logged on as masteron her computer and the same problem came up. I checked with the Novell tech and the group for that program is set up and she is part of the group. If the premission were the answer, then the other users would get the same error, but he is not. We are going to mirror her machine and try from there, this way she have a reformated hard drive and all the software that she use and see if the problems comes back.
