Presently running the 2050 Softphone 4.04.0169 . We have been using these for years and recently noticed a problem calling between the softphones . Due to the virus , all agents are working from home , using VPN . When agent A calls Agent B , neither agent can hear the other . If an agent/softphone calls another internal extension ( on prem 3904 , not softphone ) the call is normal , both parties can hear each other . Softphone calls to external numbers work fine too .
Any thoughts on possible causes ?

IP routing over the VPN most likely. An easy way to verify is to have agent A attempt to ping the IP address assigned to the workstation/VPN client of agent B.

If the network group can enable "user to user forwarding" or whatever it may be called in your particular VPN device more likely than not it will start working.

BIV343 , thanks for the quick reply . You are probably correct about the VPN client . The VPN is also blocking ADD / multicast functionality . I'll contact my VPN gurus and see if they can fix .
Thanks again !
