Hello All!

So we are currently on Rls 7.6 and ran into a small issue that I cannot seem to figure out regarding the 2050 IP Soft phone for Windows (4.4 Rls 9 - latest release). When an inbound call occurs we only get a single buzz/beep tone instead of any ringing tone indicating a call is coming in. Certain sets just started doing this for no reason.

We've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, checking the TN, and the set options for the soft phone have a ringing tone selected. We've even tried disabling all the other call notifications (like the voice notification, system tray window notification, etc.). A browse around the web and documentation don't mention anything about this.

Any ideas?

I'm not sure about the 2050 soft phone, but I did find this old report that might offer a clue?

Problem
Taurus set 'A' bleeps similar to ACD single ring when ringing Taurus set 'B'

Answer
Taurus sets have the capability of messaging each other -- the tone received is that to inform you the set you are ringing has a message and messaging is set to on . see user guide for Taurus sets for more information.

CLS =(STSD) Set-to-Set Messaging Denied
STSA Set-to-Set Messaging Allowed
Only applies for M3903 and M3904 units (Check if the prompt is changeable)

Thanks Firebird Scambler - I don't see that CLS in the 2050 TNB and bizarrely, the same TN with the same software version will work on certain PCs and not on others.

So, we figured it out. Our soft phones had CLS BUZZ set instead of RNGI/RNGB. No clue why only certain phones were listening to this configuration and others not, but changing them to RNGI fixed it.
