Team hi
provided that i have a valid KRS license for 2050 and i have the license file for the hardware id for my laptop can someone confirm where to install this ficense file? I need to run just one 2050 on a single pc so no need for dedicated licensing server. Has anyone installed and configured 2050 version 4.0 and above to a stand alone machine?
The KRS license file is an ipctokenXXXXXXXXXXXX.lic file or ipctokenXXXXXXXXXXXX.cfg file?
I have a valid lic and i need to install it and use the latest 2050 softphone.

thanks in advance.

Nikos

Hello Nikos

You can either run your own licensing server which involves using the software from browsing the BCM and installing it on a computer that is on all the time, or you can import the file in the IP Sets section within Element Manager.

OK David
I will try it today, i have a question about that .
So on first login with the new 2050 to the BCM system that the license has been uploaded the software will get activated. Correct? then that means i can login to any bcm system just by entering the correct server IP? Or the softphone will only work on the spesific BCM system that the Lic was uploaded?

thanks

Nikos

If I understand right the 3.0 and 4.X will register licensing to the dedicated server.
The BCM is only allowing for an IP Client seat.

Best to use 2.0 version as 2nd license and server not required.

Yes i was using 2.0 version until now but a customer requires the latest version with the expansion keys so i got a license and started working on it.
I have entered all the info needed in order to do the Node-locked licensing and can be applied to the Avaya 2050 IP Softphone by licensing using the BCM HTTP server but i still get the licensing failure and does not get registered.
Anybody that has done it before using the Node locked option?

thanks

Nikos

Got ya.

Also besides gwebsters link see if this post helps in your case but note it also states you need to be patched.

Team i still have not managed to make the 2050 run on the laptop.
Can someone confirm that has done the NODE Locked procedure before and worked fine?
thanks.
