2018 & 2019 were never closed in SBT Pro 6

I have a customer who is still using SBT Pro 6 that I work with very rarely. Apparently they have not closed any periods or year since 2017 so 2018 & 2019 are still open. Now that they need to enter transactions in 2020 appears we need to close 2018.

So my question is twofold, is there any way to move forward to 2020 without closing and how screwed up will their books be by closing all periods and the year of 2018 now?
