Hello,

I have a network behind the 200R, which using the virtual server list I am able to forward ports to our webserver and various other necessary computers great.

One problem

The limitation of available spots to enter ports. It gives me what 16 slots?

Email alone takes 6 or so, plus ftp, dns(2), http requests, etc. Leaves me very little room for others without opening up a group of ports just to try and compress lines used.

Not sure how the special applications is supposed to work, i'm guessing its for gamers where its not a port forwarding.

Any suggestions on how to expand the port forwarding capabilities?

Thank you.

It sounds to me like you've reached a hardware limitation. You basically have 4 options here:

1) Open up port ranges to acchieve what you want with the allowed number of custom virtual servers, at the risk of reduced security and firewall protection.

2) Replace the Symatec firewall/vpn appliance with a more capable device, which will be an additional cost and will make configuring your network much more complicated.

3) Add an additional device to your network in conjunction with the 200R, which provides its own firewall protection and bypasses the 200r completely, again at additional cost and complexity.

4) Give up internet access to some of your servers.

uggh, pretty much what i thought.

Thanks.
